Recently, I had the pleasure of embarking on a three-day trip to the Danube delta, located in Romania. The Danube delta is one of the largest and most diverse wetlands in Europe, with a unique and diverse ecosystem. The trip was an exciting and adventurous experience that allowed me to explore the beauty of nature and observe a variety of bird species.
On the first day, we started off by photographing from the car and boat. We were able to capture stunning images of the wetland landscape and various bird species. In the evening, we had a discussion and reflected on our overall experience of the day. We emphasized the thrills of the day and the excitement we felt as we spotted different species of birds.
The second day was even more thrilling as we were back on the boat, photographing Dalmatian pelicans, Ducks, Cormorants, and other shorebirds. Even if we did not get a closer as we wanted to the birds we were able to observe them in their natural habitats. It was truly a magical experience being able to witness their behavior and movements from the boat.
The third day was the highlight of the trip. We were lucky enough to photograph a white-tailed eagle and great white pelicans. It was an amazing experience to see these magnificent birds in their natural habitats. Unfortunately, we had to cut the day short as we had to leave a bit early.
As the summary of the three days, I wish we could of gotten a bit closer to the subjects and the variety of the birds was larger, however, as wildlife photographers know it well, the nature can't be controlled, sometimes you get lucky sometimes not so much. Nevertheless, the experience was fantastic. The food was delicious, we had different fish dishes everyday that were cooked in such a unique way. The place we stayed in was clean and comfortable, and our guide was a true professional who was knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the area and its wildlife.
Overall, the trip was an unforgettable experience, and I would highly recommend visiting the Danube delta to anyone who loves nature and wants to witness its beauty of wildlife. It was a thrilling adventure that left me with memories that I will cherish for a long time.
